Ignoring Inconvenient Truths

After dozens of townspeople each passionately described their strong opposition to the housing project, the town council voted unanimously for the project. That is power over—using raw power to dismiss, ignore, or diminish important facts. The source of power is often positional power, dominance, or fear-mongering.
